ArtCinema is a non-profit organisation dedicated to preserving Hydra's legacy as a global sanctuary for creatives.
We work year-round with Hydra and Greece’s artistic communities, while fostering an international network of artists, filmmakers, patrons, and cultural organisations.

The Annual ArtCinema Membership helps sustain year-round cultural programming on Hydra and across Greece, supporting screenings, exhibitions and artist residencies.
Artcinema Hydra is our curated annual long weekend of art and film. An international celebration of creativity in all its forms that also serves as the official fundraiser for our global educational programs.
Welcoming distinguished guests and the local community, our June Summer Prelude was held alongside Hydra's annual cultural calendar with the opening of the DESTE Foundation's Project Slaughterhouse exhibition featuring Nari Ward & Hydra’s Miaoulia Weekend.

Following the success of its inaugural 2024 programme, ArtCinema Hydra returned in 2025 with an expanded weekend of international cinema, art, music, performance and workshops. Bringing visiting creatives together with Hydra’s local artistic community.
1 - 4 OCTOBER 2025
ArtCinema’s inaugural three-day programme, held from 4-6 October 2024, brought together film, visual art, music, industry exchange and community events across Hydra, establishing the foundations of a new cultural initiative rooted in the island’s creative history.

ArtCinema is carrying several of our Summer Programmes after their successful June launch into July & August this year.
From our vibrantly successful Beauty Salon & Art Exhibition by leading American Post-Conceptual artist Rob Pruitt to Summer Art Workshops for children hosted by Hydra-based artist Dimitris Fousekis & friends.
Following a celebrated opening on 23 June, Rob Pruitt's Beauty Salon & Exhibition remains open during July on Hydra. Stop by and explore this one-of-a-kind site-specific exhibition.

As part of our established Greek non-profit, ArtCinema Greece, aims to cultivate an international community that champions and greenlights independent art and film from talented creators, regardless of their background.
Since the mid-20th century Hydra emerged as a haven for International Artists. It began attracting more painters, poets, and musicians, such as Leonard Cohen.
Our community of partners and collaborators driven by a shared passion. Working together to create opportunities and preserve Hydra's legacy as a sanctuary for creatives.
We encourage our guests and patrons to visit DESTE Foundation’s Project Slaughterhouse . Previously an old slaughterhouse, now a vibrant curated art experience.
Patronage can take many forms, as one beloved Greek art patron describes it: supporting creativity might mean collecting, curating events and exhibitions, building networks, or simply nurturing friendships and relationships that contribute to cultural life. At ArtCinema, we welcome all who share this spirit.
We help local teachers and talent facilitate youth-oriented workshops across art, film, music & more!
Connecting international talent with Hydra’s inspiring aura and rich cultural history as a global creative hub.
We work with local animal welfare groups towards funding a dedicated veterinary clinic on the island.
